European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD) takes place annually on 18 November 2012. 

Antibiotics are important medicines that kill bacteria and can save lives. Antibiotics are losing their effectiveness due to their overuse and at times inappropriate use as bacteria develop resistance to them.  This means that antibiotics may no longer work in the future.

The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) have supported the 'Stop Pressure Ulcer Days' taking place in Spanish-speaking countries and last year these organisations created a Declaration in Rio speaking out against people developing pressure ulcers.

Research shows that 25 children die from being entangled in window blind cords

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) has produced a leaflet about Blind Cord Safety. Research has shown that at least 25 children have died in the UK since 1999 after becoming entagled in the looped cord of a window blind.
