Adult placement service
Adult placement services recruit people living in the community and approve them as adult placement carers.  You (as the vulnerable adult) stay with another person or family, who provide a unique setting for individual support and development. You lead your life in the adult placement carer‘s home as part of the household.

Care home service
There are no legal differences between residential homes and nursing homes.  They are all care homes and can be more flexible about the services they offer. They can meet all aspects of your accomodation, support and care including nursing care.  

Housing support service
This covers a range of activities that allow you to maintain your accomodation, meet your duties and responsibilities as a tenant and get involved in the local community.

Support service
These fall under the heading of day care and can be offered within a care home, centre or to those provided directly in the community and not based in a centre.  Support services can help with people who need support with very complicated need to people who need time-limited support at various times.

Short breaks and respite care should provide a positive experience for you and a break for carers from the main caring tasks.  It improves your quality of life by providing an opportunity to have a break from your usual routine.

Care at home makes sure that as many people as possible are supported in their own homes. The care at home service can touch on all aspects of your daily life in your own home.  You and any other people living in your home should feel comfortable and at ease with the home care workers.

Criminal justice supported accomodation
The services are normally provided to people under a statutory order or licence who are assessed as unable, at this time, to live independently in the community. However, social work may decide that a person in their care (under statutory supervision) would benefit for the extra support and supervision which these servcies offer.
