Inspection reports
We inspect every registered care service, local authority social work departments and child protection teams on a regular basis to make sure that providers are meeting standards required and are working to improve the quality of care for everyone. Every time we inspect these services we produce an inspection report.
Use the following links to search for an inspection report.
Care service inspection reports
We regulate all care services in Scotland using the National Care Standards, set out by the Scottish Government, as a benchmark for how each type of service should perform. These standards are the minimum that you should expect when using care services. All our inspection reports can be found on our care service list
Local authority inspection reports
Focusing on inspection and at arms length from the policymakers, our job is to inspect all social work services in Scotland, and report publicly and to the Scottish Parliament on the quality of these services, locally and nationally. The emphasis is firmly on people.
Please note that all previous inspection reports that were carried out before April 2011 can be found within the archive section of our publications.
Joint inspection of children's services
Working with other agencies, we take a lead in conducting joint inspections of children's services in a particular area. You can read our reports about children's services, and how we inspect, in this section.
Child protection inspection reports
We inspect all local authority services that have a responsibility to protect children.
