Update : Payment of PVGs and Disclosure Scotland checks

Childminders -

As previously announced, from 1 April 2012 Childminders will become responsible for paying their own checks and those of people over 16 resident in their household.

All applicants/providers -

It has also been agreed that for ALL applicants, rather than them writing a cheque out to the Care Inspectorate, that the applicant will be asked to provide a cheque payable to ' Disclosure Scotland'. This reduces the beaurocracy for the Care Inspectorate and Disclosure Scotland. Office Managers have already been alerted to this change.

CRBS continues to provide a service to their members where people wish to take this route.

Please note that there has been a delay in the introduction of retrospective checking (when existing staff are eligible to apply for PVG membership). More information will be issued when a commencement date is announced or any other changes are implemented.
