Complaints

One of the most important ways for us to make sure care services improve is by listening to your concerns. These may be about a care service or about the Care Inspectorate. This area explains what you should do if you want to make a complaint. It sets out what we will do, what you should expect and how long it will take to deal with your complaint. Our Complaints Procedure explains the process in detail.

Read our 'Unhappy about a care service?' leaflet for more information.

We can only deal with complaints against registered care services. We do not have the authority to deal with any complaints about local authority social work departments. If you want to make a complaint about a local authority you should contact them directly and ask for details of their complaints procedure.
